Signed & Numbered Open-Edition Chromogenic Paper Prints
I use a reputable, professional print lab to make both traditional "chromogenic" paper prints of my work, as well as thin aluminum "metals" for the open-editions. As you navigate the pieces on the website, you will see both Chromogenic Prints and Metals options for every title on the gallery. For the Chromogenic Prints, there are THREE paper options as of November 2023: Lustre, Deep Matte, and Pearl Glossy. Select the size of choice under the heading of one of the three paper options (or more if you choose!). The price associated with each check box is the price for that particular size and paper choice with shipping included in the price. I highly recommend the new Pearl Glossy paper type for my work to get the most vibrant color that many of my pieces have. The new Fuji Crystal Archive Pearl Glossy paper replaced Metallic, which I used to print on for many years and is an excellent replacement. Here is more information on this paper from Nations Photo Lab:
Fuji Pearl is a glossy paper featuring a wide tonal range, sharper text quality, and a distinctive pearl-like appearance. It is a specialty paper best used with landscapes and showcases the mist in water movement or truly funky/vibrant images.
The Pearl-like crystals give silver halide color prints a specific luster, creating a distinctive pearl-like appearance that captures everyone\'s attention! Pearl paper was designed to meet the growing, diverse demands for commercial prints and enables photographers to expand their customer print options. Pearl paper contains an extraordinary component: pearly mica crystals. Based on the natural mica, they are covered with a thin layer of metal oxides, for example, titanium dioxide. One can discern silver-white and metallic reflection effects through an interplay of transparency, refraction, coating, and multiple reflections. These lend pictures such an intense warmth and depth; they become a true sensation for the eye.
Signed & Numbered Open-Edition Metals
At a higher price point, I also offer metal prints, which is a thin aluminum substrate with a white base and is high gloss. The white base and high gloss substrate and finish really amplifies the saturated colors and intense contrast that much of my art incorporates. Metals require ample ambient light hitting the piece to really make the art pop -- which is why my metals are a perfect choice for a well-lit area. All signed & numbered metals will come ready to hang!
Shipping/Turnaround Time
All prints will be shipped to me first (if I do not already have the particular size and paper of the requested piece in stock) so that I can ensure that the print turned out okay to my satisfaction. At that point I will sign and number the print as well as a Certificate of Authenticity so that you know it has been looked over by me before it is shipped out to you. Every print that is ordered off MikeUmscheidPhotography.com MUST be reviewed, signed, and numbered by me. The typical completion time of an order from the time the order is placed to the time you receive it in your hands will be up to 10 business days. There are exceptions to this, however. If I am on an extended photo shoot for over a week (or other vacation), then the turnaround time for your order may be as long as three to four weeks. I will e-mail customers when this is the case...and the expected time frame for when your order should be received. Paypal is the suggested method of payment for any order, however if you wish to pay by other means, then please contact me via Direct Message on Mike Umscheid Photography Facebook Page or e-mail me at mesomike@gmail.com.
